MAGGIE BAUMANN, MA MFT Intern
Maggie Baumann, MA, MFT Intern, joined Newport Beach Family Therapy in 2008 and brings a wealth of passion for healing as well as an expanded expertise to the group practice.
Maggie specializes in treating clients with addictive behaviors such as eating disorders and drug/alcohol issues. She is also trained in domestic violence and works with families recovering from issues involving emotional, physical, verbal and sexual abuse.
She works with clients of all ages, from children, teens and adults and enjoys treating not only the client, but also the entire family - as she believes an addiction or any mental illness affects everyone in the family. Her work with children includes play therapy and she incorporates sand tray therapy with these younger clients to adult clients as well.
Maggie's style in therapy is interactive, solution-focused and mindfulness based. She offers clients a variety of therapeutic techniques to help them improve low self-esteem, lack of confidence, poor self-image and general feelings of worthlessness. Maggie believes at the core of many addictions, relationship issues, control issues, parenting problems, depression and stress are factors that are associated with low self-esteem and attachment issues.
By working in therapy on these core issues, many life problems can be solved allowing the individual to heal and enjoy a more fulfilling life.
